I don’t want to be without the pituitary support for my Cushings/IR horse.
That along with the Hempseed Oil seem to be the best help I can give her for dealing with Cushings.

I started use of the Pitiuitary Support #28 for one of 2 horses with tested/diagnosed Cushing’s. Soldier is a TWH gelding that at the age of 19 presented with lameness & laminitis. Long story short, he was also diagnosed with Cushing’s (& other probable cause diseases) & treatment ordered. He could not take even 1/4 tab Prascend without going off all feed including hay. [As fyi: he has also been treated for chronic Lymes; EPM and the laminitis all tested for at this same time.].Use of your immunity, brain/nerve & kidney supports helped rebuild his health after much conventional treatments performed. I have noted a restored balance of health I had not seen for a long time. He looks and acts 5-10 yrs younger today! The 15 y/o mare (foxtrotter) was the first lameness/laminitis (tested Cushingoid and positive EPM) a year prior to Soldier, started conventional Prascend (pergolide) treatment. She is presently on the Pituitary blend & having luck titrating her dose of pracend down to 3/4 tab and working towards the 1/2 tab mark. BOTH horses hair-coats and condition are fantastic with shedding normal. Both had corrective shoeing and their feet have improved rapidly. (Prior to even trying foot/hoof supplement) With the approval of my vet, use of many of your supplements has helped restore all of my horses to normal health in spite of multiple nasty conditions & diseases. I thank you for your products. So far, they have ALL lived up to their “Support” titles and are making a difference in all of my horses lives! THANK YOU!

I started using #28 after my horse was diagnosed with Cushings. He was lethargic and just stood around with his head hanging low before this product! After just 15 days I took him out on the trail and he was as peppy as ever and has been ever since. I am totally amazed with the results!!! I can ride him all day and he is ready to go again the next day. I LOVE this product!!!

I have had several horses with shedding/sweating type issues over the years, (Rescue and re-hab) three of my own and more in need of help. Another product was not doing it so I switched to Pituitary and the results were amazing. I have my own 24 yr old gelding who is the soul mate of my horse world, and he is thriving like a teenager because of this product. Thank you S/L your products keep my loved ones happy and healthy.

I had placed an order the other day for several items, trying some of your dog products for my old dog, and had tried your Pituitary Support on my horse, and ordered more, as I am very pleased with the results. I had ordered it from Valley Vet, and about half a month into feeding it, results were coming thru bigtime. I would give it a five star rating. My horse, a haflinger age 21, I admit she is chubby, but not overly so but you know how an easy keeper horse is. She was not shedding her hair, sweating unusually , and seemed to be feeling under the weather. Instead of playing she would place her face on my arm and stand still. She was not feeling well. She does have a couple fat pads on her belly. I am not rich, so instead of vet call which would be last resort, I studied up on Cushings and figured she may be starting to get that, and looked in catalog for some ideas that maybe would help. I sent for your Pituitary Support and it was wonderful…I have my little buddy back, sweating normally, however on a diet which she is unhappy about. I switched to plain grass hay, low starch feed which she only gets half a cup twice a day to use to put the pituitary support, some ground flax into. She has lost a bit of weight, took up a notch or two on the girth, but she is feeling fine. So, Thank you for a good product, and I would recommend it highly. Happy trails once again.

I can’t say enough good things about the 28 Pituitary Support. It has been a game changer for my 39 year old Appy mare. She has Cushings/IR and started taking prascend last year (2018). I started giving her Silver Lining’s Pituitary Support in early April 2019. She has shed out, which she has been unable to do in recent years. I believe that the Pituitary Support has done more for her than the prascend. So happy for Silver Lining Herbs.

Thanks so much for your note. In fact, I’m getting ready to order some more of #26 an #28. This combination is working very well for my Cushing/EMS symptom gelding. He shed out better than I imagined. He had actually gone into a state of anhydrosis last summer, but that seems to have regulated itself back to normal. The poor horse had been respirating all his excess heat for almost a year. Always wanting to support my horses in the least invasive way I tend to look to herbs and minerals before medication. I like the way they can be seasonally tailored to combine with the available forage and hay and that they are something a horse would naturally seek out . We’re in the process of a long term pasture revitalization project. Looking to get some better forage growing – including some free choice herbs. I’m very satisfied with your product and especially like that there are no fillers. Thank you!

My vet recommended your Pituitary Support formula for my older horse who for the past three springs has had a really hard time shedding out his winter coat that seems to get heavier every year. He tested negative for Cushing”s, but his coat seemed to take months to shed out and then when it finally did shed it was in patches that left him with this really thin, dry coat that didn’t look very healthy. I tried your Pituitary Support in the fall to see if it might help him with his transition from his summer to winter coat. I am pleased to report that in February he is already starting to shed his thick winter coat, and I can see that the hair that will be left is healthy and thick! I really am pleased with the results and I think he will be much more comfortable when the weather does finally warm up. Thanks so much for such a great product. There really is nothing else like it out on the market!

I’m a VERY skeptical consumer and believe that many of the supplements marketed today have no valid data to back up their claims and that most of those products’ claims are based on anecdotal data without controlled study or veterinary supervision. My mare’s symptoms were very diverse and made her extremely dangerous to handle. They started abruptly halfway through her two-year-old year. Both my trainer and I believed that she was just quirky and we would just need to address her behavior. My mare became VERY aggressive, almost impossible to groom, saddle and bridle. Although she became increasingly dangerous to handle on the ground and could not be shod without being heavily sedated, she was simple to ride, progressed consistently in her training and was very competitive each time she was shown as a three-year-old. When her Futurity season ended I obtained a routine blood panel to rule out any other causes. Although her base line bloodwork was negative, given the abrupt on the onset of her aggressive behavior and other symptomology, my vet suggested that we put her on an ulcer medication which resulted in some improvement. Throughout 2015 we tried to see if changes in feed or routine would further improve her behavior. These changes had no significant effect. However, I believed that we were missing the root cause of her problems. When more extensive bloodwork revealed a cortisol imbalance, my vet suggested to try your Pituitary Support herbs. Although I did not believe that a supplement would make a difference, her symptomology was so extreme I was willing to try anything. After approximately 2 weeks on your Pituitary Support in the fall of 2015, she became almost a completely different animal to handle. (There is video on YouTube of her winning performance at the CRHA Challenge Derby 10/23/15. She ended up winning nearly $3,000.00.) To confirm that your product was the basis for her dramatically improved behavior, and based on my educational background, I tried an experiment after the show season ended. I took her off your herbs, did not change anything else, and her behavior began to deteriorate. I tried another supplement which had reportedly been more successful in treating my mare’s type of symptomology. Within a short period of time off the Pituitary Support and on the alternate settlement, she began to exhibit her prior dangerous and hostile behavior. When she was put back on your herbs again for two weeks, she became a happy compliant horse again. Needless to say, she will remain on your herbs.

Our 22 year old gelding had a very long, thick and curly hair coat all of a sudden two years ago. Our vet took a blood sample and it was confirmed that he had full blown Cushing’s. We have always purchased Silver Lining Products and to our surprise the vet gave us a bag of #28 Pituitary Support to start him on. After about 9 months on #28 his thick and curly hair coat shed out. His coat again shined and he looked 10 years younger. After being on #28 for a full year our vet again drew blood and sent it off for test. The lab had called him telling them that they had to run it twice as they could not believe the results of great improvement. We have continued our horse on #28 and he is now 24 years old. Our vet did a flex test on him and he flexed like a 5 year old. We are truly impressed with this product. We also are very impressed with the great service we always get when we call in for any inquiries.
