Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will results be recognized?

Herbs are assimilated at the cellular level as they enter the body and travel throughout the system. The benefits of a complete and healthy diet may take 30-90 days to recognize.

How are Silver Lining Herbs given and in what form will I receive them?

Our horse line products come in a powder form. They are best given in the grain as a top dressing.

My horse is a picky eater. Are they palatable?

Most horses are excited about getting the herbs, but there are those who do not particularly care for them at first. If you will put the herbs in front of them as a top dressing and walk away, they will generally be gone when you come back. Using a lesser amount for a few days and gradually increase until recommended amount is achieved is also a good way to get your horse to get the herbs. You can also mix the herbal products with water to create a paste and paste them orally with a large syringe for a few days until they start getting accustomed to them.

Do I need to give vitamins and minerals with the herbal products?

Herbs are the purest form of vitamins and minerals and the easiest assimilated, therefore they will do a magnificent job to maintain your animals’ natural health if they are the only product you choose to use.

Do you recommend a loading dose?

No we don’t. We have not seen an advantage in doing a loading dose, and feel in many cases animals do better this way.

A real necessity imo

"With being in the south where we don't get a hard freeze and with wild pigs moving through the property, I like to give my horses herbal wormer to help ensure they are protected from parasite overgrowth. I have seen a positive change in how they are feeling after administering the herbal wormer and I've been using it for two years now."

Vet Check Reveals No Parasites

"Proof is in the pudding! Spring vet check reveals no parasites! We administered this in the fall/winter of 2025, April 2026 vet check. We will soon be doing our spring Silver Lining Herbs Herbal Wormer! Use another Silver Lining Herbs product and it has been a game changer for our young mare."

Christine W. (5/5)

All natural works!

"I have been using Herbal Wormer for the past 4 years and will never use anything else as long as it is available. My 10 yo mustang from the local reservation and a recently captured 15 yo BLM burro were the first to receive it followed by fecal floats that revealed a minimum number to 0 parasite load on both animals-the vet was duly impressed! They eat only local orchard grass hay with a supplement of locally made mineral and vitamin pellets, flaxseed meal, and alfalfa pellets as a carrier. I maintain an organic property based on permaculture principles. It is comforting to know that the composted manure from my livestock that I use on my crops contains no pharmaceuticals from worming treatments. Most importantly, I am not forcing my horses to take chemicals that could have an adverse affect on their long-term health. I continue to use Herbal Wormer twice a year on my 4 mustangs and they are healthy and happy living here in Oregon’s high desert country."

Jennifer G. (5/5)

Great stuff

"I’ve been using this wormer for years. At most I use an additional tube wormer once or twice a year. All of our manure tests have come back with negative fecal egg counts. The horses love to eat the herbs, never a refusal with any of the formulas."

Erica W. (5/5)

Nice product

"Still too early to tell if the Herbal Wormer is helping. I plan to use it as each season arrives. One of my donkeys loved it immediately and the other was quite cautious but he finally gave it a try."

MaryAnne H. (4/5)

10 Day Commitment

"Yes it can be a bit of a chore, but I love the results. . . . No more butt rubbing, shinier coat, and a much happier horse."

R.J. C. (5/5)

I mixed this on with some beet pulp and a small amount of Crypto Aerp Wild forage. He gobbled it right up! πŸ‘

"My hirse gobbled this right up when I mixed it in either beet pulp and small portion of his feed. πŸ‘"

Rhonda L. (5/5)

"I always have my horses stool tested and it comes back "clean". Love these products"

Nicole K. (5/5)

Believer

"I used this on all our horses. Not one, turned their nose up at it. They all look amazing and I like this option better than the traditional paste wormers."
