Product Description

Riding an excitable horse in a competition or on a trail ride just isn’t as fun or productive as riding one who has his wits about him. #20 Keep Cool contains herbs known as “nervines,” which maintain a normal nerve impulse in the animal. Thus, you might find Keep Cool helpful in maintaining a calm, cool horse who still knows where his feet are – a state enjoyed by the horse as much as the rider. This formula may be beneficial in supporting the overall nervous system in your horse, and in:

  • For behavioral problem management
  • Helping maintain contentment during separation, travel, and tension caused by changes in the daily routine
  • May also help curb destructive behavior

Note: This herbal combination contains Black Cohosh and should not be used on mares that are in the third trimester of pregnancy as this may cause hemorrhage during foaling. This product also contains Valerian Root, which is a prohibited substance on some venue testing requirements.

This stuff is amazing, I saw huge changes within 2-3 days!

I literally never write product reviews, but this one deserves it. I have a nervous gelding with severe attachment/separation anxiety issues, and he also happens to be a picky eater. He gobbled this up from day 1 and I noticed a MAJOR difference in his demeanor after just 2 or 3 days of being on this. He no longer panics, screams or paces when his buddies get taken away! He is also so much calmer in his work and more relaxed throughout the entire day. It has been an absolute life saver for him and me because now his anxiety is pretty much a non-issue. I am thrilled with this product and will be trying many more from Silver Lining Herbs!

Keep your horse thinking

I have been impressed with the Silver Lining products more and more as time goes on and I continue to learn and reflect on the fine details. The Keep Cool has been excellent support to the seasoning process of my barrel horse - she is a combination of confident yet sensitive - there are times where she would be overly reactive and not able to get back to her "thinking" state of mind as quickly as I'd hope considering the foundation she has. The addition of this supplement (at full dose, 1 scoop twice daily) has made a huge difference. She can process situations which may put her close to the "edge" and then think through them and breathe/focus. I feel these herbs combined with a healthy GI tract (foregut and hindgut - maintained through type of feed and your feeding practices and supplements etc) along with great horsemanship could set your horse up for the best success! The nervous system should definitely be considered more in the horse's health/performance goals! The Brain and Nerve formula could be mentioned here too - I will leave a more specific review there.

Review

I purchased a 3 yr old Morgan last summer and put him on Keep Cool while I was starting to train him. We started riding out on my trails all alone everyday, and yes I knew I was asking a lot from a 3 yr old to do this. We had a great summer and fall riding in the woods and I am proud how well he did. Winter came and we basically headed back to the arena to work with an occasional day back out in the woods if it wasn't to wet and slippery. Several weeks ago I was at the end of the bag #20 keep cool and I thought, I am not going to order any more because maybe it really isn't really doing anything and I am wasting my money....WRONG. 12 days passed and my horse grew into a jumpy, spooky, aggressive wreck. I quickly reordered another bag and after 4 days I had my level headed horse back. Conclusion is he needed this formula and was benefiting greatly from it .This product never made him sedated just more calm and level headed. I can highly recommend this product.

My mustang got so nervous out on trails alone that I couldn't ride him there unless there was another horse behind him. He even took off with me one day back to the barn and I had to bail off. I don't always have someone to ride out with so I decided to try the Kool and WOW...He is literally a different horse. Doesn't make him sleepy but sure does keep him cool and calm. I am able to ride out alone now with no further issues. Thanks for such a great product!!! I am using several other herbs for this horse and my dogs as well. I take them too!!
